Is there anything more wonderful than a wallow in a great story?

Forgot to say that the first time I read GWTW was with a friend, each of us taking turns as we sat on her front porch. Drama queens, for sure, so it's no wonder we loved Scarlett.Leigh Rikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10154211056513626383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049293050471832760.post-88817607968550574822007-06-27T12:30:00.000-07:002007-06-27T12:30:00.000-07:00Reading during the summer was a constant with me. ...Reading during the summer was a constant with me. If we took a short holiday and rented a cottage I would take a bag of books with me. I would walk to the local library every few days and be thrilled with my loot. I would read Daphne Du Maurier, and become immersed in her world.elliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05611756244312729775noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049293050471832760.post-72405628169236997612007-06-27T12:24:00.000-07:002007-06-27T12:24:00.000-07:00During those lovely summer days I would ride my bi...During those lovely summer days I would ride my bike to the public library close to home and emerge with a stack of books. P put them in my basket and ride back home ready for another wonderful week of reading. I took out Anne of Green Gables, all the classics and numerous novels.annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04203891014348374267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049293050471832760.post-54033747172567982262007-06-26T19:18:00.000-07:002007-06-26T19:18:00.000-07:00When I was a teenager I read Gone With The Wind at...When I was a teenager I read Gone With The Wind at lease 4 time if not more, I even gave a book report on it in school. Back in the early eighty's I read a book called Rebel Temptress by Constance O'Banyon and was hooked on her books. I still get out the Rebel Temptress book and read on occasion, because it is alot like GWTW just not as long.Virginiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06924888528166831610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049293050471832760.post-83728982710158828702007-06-26T18:17:00.000-07:002007-06-26T18:17:00.000-07:00My mom would take us to the library every week dur...My mom would take us to the library every week during the summer. I would take out as many books as I could. I never read Katherine by Anya Seton and it sounds like I've missed out on a very good book. I've added it to my TBB list. Gone With the Wind was my first romance novel and is still my favorite.Carol Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07018603523305326782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049293050471832760.post-22271728237040149942007-06-26T18:09:00.000-07:002007-06-26T18:09:00.000-07:00Sounds like one of those books that you never get ...Sounds like one of those books that you never get tired of reading. A book that I can think of that is one of tose type is A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson. It is a story about a Russian Countess who loses everything and has to become a servant. She never loses her positive attitude and wins the heart of everyone around her.Cherie Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16767627787231269781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5049293050471832760.post-33644607701404739832007-06-26T17:35:00.000-07:002007-06-26T17:35:00.000-07:00My childhood memories are similar to yours.
